It’s Time To Get Blogging!

Yes, I know – it’s not social media. But blogging can be super helpful not only to your social media content calendar, but also to your overall marketing strategy.

Blogging can sometimes be referred to as one aspect of “content marketing”. This is simply producing content that helps bring value to your audience and positions you as an authority in your industry.

Do you want people to come across your brand or business and think “they seem to know what they’re doing/saying!“? Sure you do! Producing content online, like blogging, is a great way to do that.

Here are some more reasons to get blogging:

  • Share your knowledge of your products/services and your business’s industry/market.
  • Improves your ‘position of authority’ – people will see you as the expert, and therefore trust you more.
  • Provides great content for your social media channels. Not just by sharing your blogs, but by taking content out of your posts and turning them into smaller ‘snacks’ of content.
  • Helps the SEO for your website, and ultimately gets discovered on search engines like Google.

But blogging doesn’t have to be an arduous exercise.

Here are some tips for getting started on the right foot:

  • When you start, aim to post once a month, then slowly build up to fortnightly, then once a week… You get the picture.
  • Plan out some topic ideas and key points for each.
  • Post the blogs on your website and LinkedIn as a native LinkedIn Pulse article.
  • And finally, write about what you know + what you’re passionate about. Then the words flow!
